Physical Review Referee Tutorial
Saturday, January 24, 18:00-20:30 POSTPONED - NEW DATE TBC
University of Latvija, House of Science (Jelgavas iela 3, Riga)
Peer review is a crucial part of how science works. Effectively engaging with it, both as an author or a referee, is an important part of being a successful scientist. In this workshop, the editors of two journals in the Physical Review family, PRA and PRX, will explain how to be an active participant in the peer review process. The workshop consists of several tips and a practical exercise. Participants will learn the benefits of being a referee, how to act as one, and how to successfully interact with editors and referees for the manuscripts they author.
Speakers: Erin Knutson (Editor, Physical Review A) and Mauro Schiulaz (Editor, Physical Review X)

IQM WORKSHOP
Monday, Januray 26, 13:30-15:30
Meeting Room H (1st floor, next to Hall 1), ATTA Centre (Krasta iela 60, Riga)
Speakers and presentation titles
Manish Thapa (Senior Quantum Engineer) - Exploring the Pulse-Level Programming of Superconducting Qubits using IQM Resonance + Demo
Daria Chikunova (Talent Acquisition Partner) - IQM as Your Next Employer
PV Sriluckshmy (Senior Quantum Algorithm Engineer) - Scaling Applications - See where you fit in
In this workshop, we focus on discussing the pulse-level programming of superconducting qubits via IQM Resonance. We will rely on the pulse-level library Pulla, a Python package maintained by IQM Quantum Computers aimed at granting end-users access and visibility to pulse-level details of quantum algorithms. Participants will be guided through examples including creating custom pulse shapes, characterizing and suppressing quantum errors and we will conclude by exploring examples of how this enables the exploration of the physics governing qubit dynamics.
Qedma Workshop
Wednesday, January 28, 13:00–14:00
Meeting Room H (1st floor, next to Hall 1), ATTA Centre (Krasta iela 60, Riga)
QESEM API Training & Hands-On Exercise
Workshop Description
In this workshop, Qedma will provide a detailed overview of its error suppression and mitigation software, QESEM. The session will begin with a half-hour lecture covering the QESEM workflow and its innovative components, including recent large-scale demonstrations (see: https://arxiv.org/abs/2508.10997).
The second half-hour will consist of a guided, hands-on tutorial offering practical experience with QESEM. No prior knowledge of programming or working with noisy QPUs is required. At the end of the session, we will share some snacks and invite participants who wish to dive deeper to continue working on the tutorial or ask further questions.
About Qedma
Qedma’s mission is to push the world toward quantum algorithmic advantage by developing software products that enhance the performance of quantum computers. We aim to deliver powerful, valuable solutions that integrate seamlessly across all quantum computing platforms, enabling reliable, high-accuracy error mitigation for utility-scale quantum circuits.
